How long have you been involved in boxing?
I have been involved in boxing for about 2 years now. Started before covid hit but had to stop, then joined Benwell when the restrictions where lifted.
Who or what got you involved in the sport?
My dad he wanted me to learn how to defend myself tried various different sports, tried boxing and found I was ok at it and got a real passion for it.
Who is your biggest inspiration?.
Callum Smith love his style
What does it mean for you to be a boxer?
It means a lot to be a boxer, like I said I tried alot of various sports, Thai boxing one to name. Started as fitness and to protect myself and now to be called a boxer and compete in National Championships is what it's all about and im greatful for the opportunities.
What kind of diet do you prefer?
If I'm honest I don't really have a diet. I eat pretty much what I want. But around fights I tend to eat more healthy foods.
What do you do in your spare time?
Go out with mates, play on ps5 spend time with family, but usually at gym 4/5 nights a week training.
What is your favourite sports quote?
Wouldn't say I have one.
If you could share the ring and spar with any boxer, past or present who would it be and why?
Dmitry Bivol - he has the best defensive record right now and I'd love to see if I could find a way around it.
What one word describes you?
Determined
How do you prepare for a bout?
I prepare by sparring, working on drills and on the pads. A lot of fitness and cardio and watching what I eat.
What do you hope to achieve in the sport?
I hope one day to represent GB at the Olympic Games and earn a medal. One day be professional on the main stage.
After boxing what do you hope to do?
Start coaching the next generation of boxers
What is your biggest achievement to date?
I have a few achievements I'm proud of TTW champ at 2 weights. Angel of the North box champion.
But my biggest is winning THE NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CHAMPIONSHIPS IN OCTOBER 2022.
What was your toughest bout?
My toughest bout was losing in the National Final in March to a more experienced boxer, Charlie Sorenson from Mighty Mariners which is based in the Midlands. Charlie had been boxing 10 years to my 2 years and had double the amount of bouts. To this date he is still the only defeat I have suffered and this made me more determined to get to Nationals again and win!!
